What is Pediatric Pelvic Health OT?
Pediatric pelvic health focuses on helping children who are experiencing bladder, bowel, or pelvic health concerns such as constipation, daytime accidents, bedwetting, urinary retention, pelvic pain, or difficulty recognizing when they need to use the washroom. These challenges often involve much more than the bladder or bowel alone. Body awareness, sensory processing, breathing, movement, routines, and nervous system regulation can all play an important role.
At Coven Health Collective, these concerns are assessed and treated by members of our pediatric occupational therapy team. Through play, education, sensory exploration, movement, breathing, and practical strategies, they help children better understand their body’s signals, develop healthy toileting habits, and build the confidence and independence needed for everyday life.
