Who I help:
I work with people who want to understand their bodies, feel at home in them, and feel confident in how they move through the world.
If you’re experiencing pelvic pain, pelvic heaviness or prolapse, incontinence or urgency, challenges with sexual intimacy, or feel like your body is working against you for whatever reason, I’m here to support you!
I also work closely with people who feel disconnected from their bodies, have difficulty understanding their body’s cues, or are navigating high stress and emotional dysregulation. This often shows up in the body because our bodies and lives can’t be siloed into individual components. The pelvic floor is closely connected to our breathing, stress levels, nervous system, and even our thoughts and beliefs.
Whether you are looking to prevent future issues, are body-curious, or are already experiencing symptoms that are impacting your life, my goal is to help you understand what your body needs through all of life’s transitions.
How I help:
I am a whole-body, creative practitioner who helps you reconnect with your body so you can participate in the parts of life that matter to you.
I assess and treat physical symptoms, including tissues, fascia, sensation, breathing, and muscle coordination. We also talk about your beliefs about your body, explore your stressors, and look at how your nervous system is functioning.
Together, we look at how all these pieces are connected and how they’re impacting your day-to-day life. From there, we figure out what your body is communicating and what it needs, so you can get back to the activities that matter to you.
Stuff I never shut-up about:
I am a nervous system regulation and sensory awareness nerd!
Our nervous systems communicate directly with our pelvic floors, which means our stress, body position, breathing, beliefs, and thoughts all impact this group of muscles at the base of our core. I love supporting people in understanding how their bodies respond to stress, what they need to feel safe, and how to down-regulate their nervous systems.
Once the body feels safe, we can start to (re)learn how to engage the muscles we need to move, do, and be in our lives.
Outside of the clinic:
When I am not logistic planning or Ubering my three children to live their best lives, I enjoy hiking mountains (for the après-hike charcuterie), reading books that I tend to buy faster than I can consume (and I read A LOT), or drinking good coffee during yoga before heading to the farmer’s market.
Outside of Coven, I also teach Occupational Therapy students at the university, and volunteer with young adults with intellectual disabilities at Lil E Coffee Café.
